NOTE: Instructional Designers and Instructional Design Assistants using the ProctorU scheduling system are only responsible for the tasks listed on these pages. All other ProctorU-related requests should be sent to CITL-ProctorU@illinois.edu.
Scheduling Makeup Exams
Scheduling makeup exams is a two-step process that involves both instructor authorization by email and student confirmation by phone or email.
- Step 1: Instructor authorization (by email only): Have the instructor send an email message granting permission for the makeup and providing the student's name, course, exam name, makeup date and makeup time to passwords@proctoru.com. There should be an assessment directive form on file for the exam. If there is an existing assessment directive form, the instructor should mention this in the email message to ProctorU. If there is no current assessment directive form on file, the ID will need to send citl-proctoru@illinois.edu an assessment directive form for the makeup. The instructor must then notify the student that he/she must confirm the makeup appointment by phone or email (see Step 2 below).
- Step 2: Student confirmation: Instructor must notify the student that he/she must confirm the makeup appointment by phone or email:
- Phone confirmation: students should phone 855-772-8678 toll free to confirm their makeup exam appointment.
- Email confirmation: students should email passwords@proctoru.com to confirm their makeup exam appointment.
DRES Accommodation and Extended Testing Time
Students with a legitimate formal accommodation letter from DRES will not be charged extra for accommodation-related extended time testing--i.e., they are charged the regular, non-extended exam time.
ProctorU cannot independently verify DRES accommodation letters. Following is the 3-step process for arranging extended testing time with ProctorU:
- STUDENT submits DRES accommodation letter to instructor.
- INSTRUCTOR notifies ID for course (extended testing time may involve adjustments/modifications to existing exam setup in the LMS).
- ID notifies Marc Thompson (thompso1@illinois.edu) who provides support and scheduling for accommodation requests.
After this, the student simply needs to phone in his/her appointment at 855-772-8678 (toll free) to arrange the extended appointment.
